For my fellow Adobe enthusiasts currently holding fort on an Apple computer, you may want to give a moments pause before upgrading to the new Mac operating system dubbed "Leopard." According to Adobe's Leopard FAQ, while most CS3 products are supported prior suites, e.g., CS & CS2 may experience glitches which will not be supported.
For those that choose to upgrade to Leopard, take note that Acrobat 8 will need to be updated to version 8.1.2. This release patch is scheduled for January 2008. Adobe's video suite of products, e.g., Premiere, Encore, Soundbooth, will be patched in December 2007. Photoshop Lightroom 1.2 has not been given the green light under Leopard, and no patch dates have been released.
Given my clientele, I currently run both the Adobe CS2 & CS3 suites on company machines. The majority of my clients are still CS2, and while class demand for CS3 is growing, I expect to keep CS2 support running well into 2008. Any upgrade to Leopard will have to be on a tailored machine, similar to my setup for Windows Vista.
