A broad range..

I'd like to see the group really explore as many of the Adobe apps as possible and not start to congeal into a web-developer only group. Some suggested meeting topics:

Photoshop (lot's of possible topics here)
InDesign (Let's not forget our paper-based colleagues)
Illustrator (There may be some artists among us!)
Creative use of several products together (How does it all fit together?)

Adobe is getting ready to release CS3. Dreamweaver wll replace GoLive (GOOD DECISION ADOBE!) and FreeHand, Fireworks don't appear to have made the cut. So we should try and get some more info as the release approaches (Q2 2007) and perhaps discuss new features.

While we have a speaker lined up for November already with a webdesign theme, we'll have to make sure we accomodate the graphics folks - maybe one of our members would like to do a demonstration for us that day? I think we'll get a better read of what members would like to see presented come the 14th.

In December, I don't see us having a meeting what with the holidays and all, but we can make sure the meeting in January will have a graphics-themed discussion and speaker.

Any volunteers to do a presentation or get a speaker? :] Keep in mind, that whoever gets a speaker or does a presentation for us - is put in the raffle for the Adobe software and other items.

Thanks-
Kevin

Hi, Gene. You may have to keep pushing your agenda a bit. Macromedia's developer support resources for their core products are much more mature than Adobe's. So i would guess that it will be easier to accommodate needs around the web development tools.

But i'm with you--i need more help with Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop right now.

Well, GoLive will still be available as a standalone product but it won't be in the Suite. That may be the fate for Fireworks and Freehand as well. We'll see!

Now see - that is not what I've heard. I've heard from reliable sources that Fireworks will definitely make the grade. I wish I could go into more details, but NDA prevents me from doing so. Who knows, maybe things have changed?
