Deployment of Content to Mobile Devices

Was just curious what everyone thought the answer is in deploying content to mobile phones/pdas?

I did the first EDS course deployed to a mobile device about 6 years ago using Flash - and downloaded via sync cradle to a user's PDA (dell). But is Flash still the answer? Perhaps now it is FLEX and its more complex actionscripting rather than just simply Flash?

What is the universal solution for deployment to fit on most any device? For instance - could I package a self-contained course or site - with no tracking (SCORM) needed - and download to either a PDA or phone? What solution would be most flexible for display reasons, since there doesn't seem to be a standard display size for the screens out there.

I definitely do not want to create content for a specific model of pda/phone. I would want the delivery to be as device agnostic as possible.

I would like to think the answer is Flash/Flex - but some devices (most notably the iPhone - do not even currently support .swf).

What are your thoughts? Feel free to ramble as I have.

Kevin
