Description
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Under general supervision, creates moderately complex internal/external company web pages including graphics, animation, and functionality. Designs web page layout and on-line content, user interface graphics, icons, color schemes, content, and infrastructure for new product release and new web-hosted product offering. Performs development and maintenance programming for web pages and web applications. Performs web usability testing. Partners with programming and development staff to implement pages or applications into production. May assist in the planning of overall company strategy involving internet usage. Design website(s) to support strategies and goals relative to external communications. Designs and develops user interface features, site animation, and special-effects elements. Develop content that will motivate and entertain users so that they regularly access the website and utilize it as a major source for information and decision making. Gathers feedback for website improvement and enhancements.

Qualifications
EDUCATION: Bachelor degree or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3 years related experience. Advanced computer software skills. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal; ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Prefer experience in web page design, HTML, CSS, and web graphics types and standards. Requires knowledge of commercial internet/web tools and protocols, preferably Adobe Creative Suite.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Graphic Design: Solid grasp of traditional visual design principles including layout, typography, color theory. Technical skills: Translates the design specification into physical code; creates and assembles code modules from existing code repositories; has detailed knowledge of one or more programming languages and/or technologies, particularly HTML and Advanced CSS; ActionScript, Flash and PHP knowledge is a huge plus. Must be comfortable working in a Windows environment. Usability: Utilizes key design principles and industry standards to ensure clear navigation, GUI, content design and ease of use for target audience; solicits feedback from end users to make modifications. Web Technologies: Understands and utilizes common web site development tools, creates web user interfaces using graphics tools, understands brand value and how to extend it to the Internet. Documentation: Enters, transcribes, records, stores or maintains information in written or electronic form.
