Our company is seeking a highly motivated, self-starter with a versatile skill set and proven experience is Web and Application Design. We are a small team and are looking to add people with confidence, experience, and general savvy over a number of disciplines and industry interests.

** Required Skills ** 

As the lead designer, you should know more about these required topics than the non-designer interviewing you.

- DESIGN

• Very stylish and creative design skills spanning a number of mediums. Today you might design for the web, but tomorrow may be Flash, Print, Video, etc.

• Photoshop Expert – You should be the type of designer with a library of fonts, brushes, styles, gradient presets, interface elements, and stock imagery ready to rock. Just knowing how to use Photoshop is not enough.

• Web/App design experience – You should be able to explain why PNG is great and why IE isn’t. You should be able to determine what design elements are feasible in web layouts, and which are nightmares DURING the design phase. You should be able to quickly slice and ship your designs.

• File Integration – You should be familiar with Bridge and other similar applications. You should be able to perfectly prepare an image for Flash and other creative suites.

- DEVELOPMENT

• Quality CSS – You should be comfortable taking any design and creating a globally compatible, CSS layout. You should be able to tell me what a sprite is and how it’s used.

• HTML/JS – You should be comfortable turning your designs into static pages for handover to back-end developers.

• SEO – You must make SEO a major consideration in your design. You should know when you use graphics and when to use text over backgrounds.

** Desired Skills **

• Flash Development – The more AS3, remoting, and sockets, the better.

• AJAX

• Script Libraries – Scriptaculous, dojo, Prototype, etc.

• Widget Development

• Social Media/Marketing and related site API’s.

• SEO, SEM
