Job Description
The Visual Designer will be an internal expert on the .com brand, creative vision, and stylistic practices. The Visual Designer works in combination with other internal and external designers and our Creative Director(s) to design and deploy innovative visual solutions for product enhancements, customer facing creative, new product ideation, executive presentations, flash development/production (including Action Script) and other visual design tasks that help represent .com and all of its products and services.
In addition, the Visual Designer will be available for range of production design tasks as suits our fast-paced, exciting production department. While not the main task of the Visual Designer, the Visual Designer must fit in to our do-what-it-takes environment to help insure that all visual production work gets completed on time and up to our top creative standards including production design work, cutting images, searching for stock photography, and assisting with non-web visual design projects.
Responsibilities:
• Provide design input and ideas for creative and production projects.
• Provide design and execution for web pages, web page elements, online banners, HTML emails, site promotions, partner channels, print collateral and other site features/enhancements.
• Support project engagement teams in the strategic positioning and high-level scoping and estimation of projects.
• Lead projects under the supervision of the Creative Director(s).
• All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Years Experience: 2-5.
• 2-5 years visual web design experience.
• 2-5 years experience in maintaining brand integrity in a visual design work environment.
• Expert knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Image Ready and Microsoft Office.
• Basic knowledge of Macromedia Flash (Action Script a plus).
• Expert at researching and identifying appropriate stock photography.
• Expert at identifying and selecting fonts.
• Familiar with HTML.
• Must have ability to write place-holder copy. Big plus if can write production-quality copy.
• Demonstrated, strong internal client interaction.
• Must be able to work with other designer’s work to evolve it.
• Must be able to find creative visual solutions that work within tight technical limitations.
• Must be able to present and defend creative work to senior executives.
• BS or BA Required (preferable in a visual design discipline).
